Doing hair and makeup is a hobby that I have been extremely passionate about, I love creating unique looks for different occasions. My daily routine follows the same simple steps to achieve a natural, glowing look. My routine begins with Rodan + Fields Recharge sunscreen. I recently started using this and absolutely love it!!! This product is a sunscreen and pore minimizer, so after using it, my skin is prepped for foundation.
Tarte Shape Tape Hydrating Foundation is the next step. It is made for dryer skin types and has amazing coverage. I specifically like using it in the summer, because the product is not "cakey" and leaves a natural glow.
My go to for concealer is Maybeline Instant Eraser and Concealer. This product is great for under eye coverage and highlights of my face! I also like the TARTE shape tape and Nars concealers, which are slightly pricier options but provide fantastic coverage as well.
I set my under eyes with Kat Von D Shade and Light Duo. Using a small brush from Real Techniques, I use the 'light' color to brighten up my under eyes. I find this method works better than any liquid concealer I have tried.
I set the rest of my face using a powder foundation. I am not too picky about powders. Liquid foundation provides coverage while powders set your makeup and create a matte look. The one I am using currently is Milani, and it does the job for me.
My all time favorite part of make-up, BRONZING!! I love the HOOLA bronzer by Benefit. I've been using it for the past year, and I have been so impressed. I prefer the look of natural tan, sun-kissed skin over the narrow, sharp contour lines. This product never fails to give me the tan glow I want, without being too dark.
Finally, I finish my face off with Tarte blush in Blushing Bride. This product is extremely smooth when applying and blends easy, which allows me to creates the perfect rosey cheek.
Eyebrows are the most crucial part of my routine. I use the Anastasia pomade in the color taupe, applied with a Sephora eyebrow brush. I have been using this combo for over three years now. I like the smooth application, easy use, and it always gives me the look I want, therefore I refuse to try anything new lol. This little jar goes a long way and is well worth the money.
The naked heat pallet is my current go-to for eye shadow. I keep my eye shadow very simple for an everyday look. I just apply a mixture of the colors, hot spell, and wild thing all over my lids. I have brown eyes, so the rusty, tan/orange colors make my eyes pop.
I'll then attempt a thin wing with liquid eyeliner and finish my eyes off with mascara. My favorite eyeliner is the Lights Camera Lashes by Tarte in the color black. My mascara of choice is voluminous lashes mascara by L'Oreal, and I have yet to find one I like better.
To finish off the look, I apply a lip product. My lip choice varies on my mood, location, and event. I stay pretty neutral on regular days, but if I'm dressing up a look, a bold lip is my fav.
(velvet teddy, bronx, taupe, brave, verve) = fav shades
Below are the main brushes I use that are worth sharing.
1) powder foundation (TARTE)
2) blush (REAL TECHNIQUES)
3) under eye highlighting (REAL TECHNIQUES)
4) flat eyeshadow (MAC)
5) blending eyeshadow brush (MAC)
